School Sports Coaching – Frequently Asked Questions

At Super Star Sport, we work with primary schools across the UK to deliver high-quality, engaging PE and sports provision that’s fun, positive, enthusiastic, and safe. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions schools ask about our coaching services.

1. What types of sports do you offer for primary schools?
We provide a varied curriculum that can be tailored to your school’s needs. Popular sports include football, rugby, gymnastics, basketball, athletics, and multi-sports. We also offer dance, fitness, and creative movement sessions. Our goal is to keep children active, smiling, and learning new skills in every session.

We also have some incredibly obscure offerings for sports before and after school such as Ninja Warrior Club, Ultimate Frisbee, Soft Archery, Pop Lacrosse and much more!

2. Do you provide PPA cover for teachers?
Yes. Our qualified and experienced coaches can deliver PE lessons as part of your PPA cover timetable, ensuring lessons are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the National Curriculum. This allows your teachers valuable non-contact time while pupils still receive high-quality physical education.

3. Can you run after-school clubs or lunchtime activities?
Absolutely. We offer wraparound provision including breakfast clubs, lunchtime activities, and after-school clubs. These sessions focus on fun, participation, and developing a love of sport in a safe, supervised environment.

4. Are your coaches qualified and DBS checked?
Every Super Star Sport coach holds relevant coaching qualifications, safeguarding training, first aid certification, and an enhanced DBS check. We take safety and child welfare seriously, and all staff follow our safeguarding policies.

5. How do you ensure lessons are inclusive?
Our sessions are designed so every child can take part regardless of ability. Coaches adapt activities to meet different needs and ensure that all pupils are actively involved for at least 75% of the lesson time. We avoid long queues and keep children moving as much as possible.

6. Can we book one-off events or sports days?
Yes. We regularly deliver sports days, themed activity weeks, and special events. These can be tailored to your school’s timetable and specific needs.

7. How do we get started?
Simply contact us to arrange a free consultation or trial session. We’ll discuss your school’s needs, timetable, and budget, and create a plan that works for you.

8. Do you offer CPD support for schools and teachers?

Yes. We provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions for teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff. These sessions are designed to build confidence in delivering high-quality PE lessons that are engaging, inclusive, and in line with the National Curriculum.
We’ve successfully delivered CPD training to entire school trusts, supporting hundreds of teachers.

9. Do you manage after-school club admin, registers, and payments?

Yes. We take care of the entire process so your school doesn’t have to. From setting up online booking forms to managing payments, registers, and attendance records, our system is designed to remove all the admin burden from your staff. This means your team can focus on teaching, while we handle everything needed to run safe, organised, and fully compliant clubs.

10. Do you offer Ofsted-registered wraparound and breakfast clubs?

Yes. We run fully Ofsted-registered wraparound provision, including breakfast clubs, after-school clubs, and holiday provision. Our clubs are safe, structured, and designed to give children a positive, active start and finish to their school day. We handle all compliance, safeguarding, and administration, so your school can offer high-quality wraparound services with ease.

11. Do you help with National Curriculum planning and mapping across the school year?

Yes. We work closely with schools to design and map a PE curriculum that aligns with the National Curriculum while meeting the specific needs of your pupils. Our curriculum mapping ensures coverage of all key skills and sports across the academic year, making it easy for teachers to track progress and provide a well-rounded PE experience.
