Physical Activity and Play (PAAP) in Nurseries
Keeping young children active isn’t just fun — it’s essential for their development. At Super Star Sport, we support nurseries with structured Physical Activity and Play (PAAP) sessions that are fully aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and help children build healthy habits for life.
The nursery PAAP programme combines fun, movement-based play with essential learning goals, giving every child the chance to grow, explore and smile, all in a safe and energetic environment.
Why Physical Activity Matters in the Early Years
Regular movement and play in the early years supports:
Gross and fine motor development
Speech, language and social skills
Confidence, coordination and concentration
Positive mental health and wellbeing
The Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines recommend all under‑5s be physically active for at least 180 minutes per day, and we’re here to help your setting meet that standard.

The Physical Activity Adventure Pack (PAAP)
At Super Star Sport, we understand that physical activity is vital to young children’s all-round development, helping them grow into happy, healthy and confident individuals. That’s why we’ve invested in the Physical Activity Adventure Pack (PAAP) to support our network and enhance nursery PE provision.
The PAAP offers a full year of developmentally appropriate lesson plans for children aged 3–6, aligned with the EYFS Statutory Framework and Development Matters guidance. Each session includes both adult-led and child-initiated activities designed to take place indoors or outdoors.
The pack includes six units of work delivered throughout the academic year:
– Locomotor skills & navigating space
– Movement and dance
– Agility, balance and coordination
– Gymnastics fundamentals
– Multi-skills (hand/eye and foot/eye coordination)
– Athletics
Every activity card is themed and built around imaginative play, helping to engage children of all abilities and bring learning to life through movement.
