Super Star Sport Acquires Leapfrog Sports

Super Star Sport has announced the acquisition of Leapfrog Sports, as the children’s sports coaching franchisor continues to invest in growth across the UK activity sector.

The acquisition represents an important milestone for the business and highlights a growing trend within franchising: established networks partnering with independent operators who share similar values, culture and long-term vision.

Leapfrog Sports, founded in 2014, has developed a strong reputation for delivering engaging and child-centred provision across schools, early years settings and weekend classes. Its commitment to quality delivery and positive impact within communities made the business a natural fit for Super Star Sport.

The transition will see Super Star Sport work closely alongside Leapfrog founder Joanne Budden and the wider team, with local Franchise Director Keelan Fallows leading operational delivery in the area moving forward.

For Super Star Sport, the acquisition is not simply about scale. It forms part of a wider strategy focused on strengthening provision, supporting franchisee growth and creating greater opportunities for children to access high-quality sport and physical activity.

Billy Densham, Network Director at Super Star Sport, said:

“What stood out immediately with Leapfrog Sports was the culture and passion behind the business. Joanne and the team have built something genuinely special with children at the heart of it.

This acquisition allows us to build on those foundations whilst also bringing more great people into our network.”

Founder Angelo Ciccarelli added:

“We believe there is huge opportunity within our sector for collaboration and positive consolidation.

There are many brilliant coaching businesses across the UK doing fantastic work locally, and we believe franchising can provide a platform to help those businesses continue to grow, evolve and create even greater impact.”

The acquisition also highlights the evolving maturity of the children’s activity and coaching sector, where founders are increasingly exploring succession planning, strategic partnerships and franchise-backed growth opportunities.

Super Star Sport now supports delivery across more than 1,000 childcare settings nationwide and continues to expand its franchise network across the UK.

The business says it remains open to conversations with coaching company owners who may be considering future growth opportunities, acquisitions or partnerships within the sector.

As franchising continues to evolve, acquisitions such as this demonstrate how strong culture, aligned values and operational support can help businesses grow while maintaining the quality and community focus that made them successful in the first place.
