Safeguarding First
Why Children’s Safety Comes Before Everything at Super Star Sport

At Super Star Sport, people often see the fun first. They see the smiles, the energy and the enthusiasm that run through our PE provision, after school clubs, wraparound care sessions and holiday camps. They see children enjoying sport, building confidence and developing skills through high-quality Primary School sport and nursery sports sessions.
All of that really matters. But there is something even more important.
Keeping children safe.
Whether we are delivering PE in Primary Schools, PPA cover, after school clubs, breakfast clubs, wraparound care or nursery sports sessions, the safety of the children we work with always comes first. It sits above every session plan, every activity and every programme we deliver.
Recently, I logged into our safeguarding system and saw a report submitted by one of our coaches that raised concerns about a child’s safety at home. The report was clear, professional and exactly what you want to see from someone working in school sport and early years provision. It was logged correctly, reviewed immediately and escalated to the local Designated Safeguarding Lead within the Super Star Sport franchise. They were already in contact with the school and were following our strict safeguarding process.

Moments like this remind us why training, systems and standards matter. Behind every fun session, every game and every smile, there is a serious responsibility. That responsibility is to notice, to report and to act.
When schools and nurseries choose a provider for PE provision, Primary School sport, wraparound care, after school clubs or nursery sports sessions, they are placing trust in that organisation. Safeguarding is not an extra. It is the foundation.
At Super Star Sport, safeguarding is built into everything we do. This includes:
- The use of a recognised, market-leading safeguarding system (CPOMS)
- Clear reporting procedures followed across our whole network
- Trained coaches who know how to spot concerns and act correctly
- Designated Safeguarding Leads in every franchise area
- Strong communication with schools, nurseries and early years settings
This approach ensures that concerns are logged properly, tracked, reviewed and acted on, not ignored or delayed.
We believe it is important for Headteachers, School Business Managers, Nursery Owners, Nursery Managers and Senior Leaders to regularly ask third-party providers the right questions, including:
- What safeguarding system do you use?
- How are concerns recorded and monitored?
- Who reviews reports and how quickly?
- Are your staff trained and supported to act correctly?
High-quality PE lessons, exciting after school clubs and engaging wraparound care are incredibly important. But they must always be supported by excellent safeguarding.
We are genuinely proud of our coaches, our franchise teams and our wider Super Star Sport network. Not only for the fun, positivity and enthusiasm they bring to Primary School sport and nursery sports sessions, but for the way they protect children every single day.

Children’s safety has to come first. Always. 💜
