On Friday 24th July, we welcomed franchisees, coaches, clients and partners to celebrate a huge milestone in the Super Star Sport journey, our 15th anniversary.

The event was an opportunity to reflect on where we’ve come from, celebrate the people who have helped shape the business and thank everyone who has played a part in reaching this point. Joining us on the evening were representatives from Pebble, The British Franchise Association (BFA), valued school partners and many of the coaches and franchisees who continue to make such a positive impact in their local communities.

Bringing the Super Star Sport Family Together

Looking around the room, there was a real sense of pride. Whilst the business has grown significantly over the last 15 years, what stood out most wasn’t the numbers, it was the people behind them. Every table had its own story, whether it was someone who had built a successful franchise, progressed through the business or supported thousands of children in schools over the years.

One of the most inspiring moments of the evening came from Danielle Smith, who shared her own Super Star Sport journey. Danielle first joined us seven years ago on a work experience placement and has since progressed into the role of Quality Assurance Manager. Her story is a brilliant example of what can happen when talented people are given opportunities, trusted to grow and surrounded by others who genuinely want to see them succeed. Watching her speak about that journey reminded everyone just how many careers have started within Super Star Sport.

As the evening drew to a close, Director Billy Densham reflected on where the business is today.

“People keep congratulating us on reaching 15 years, but if I’m honest, it feels like we’re only getting started.. Especially since after COVID where we had to take a step back and re-set. Everything we’ve achieved has been built on years of hard work from so many people, but over the last few years we’ve really found momentum. We can see the opportunities ahead of us and we’re excited about where this business can go. Most importantly, we want everyone who’s part of Super Star Sport to enjoy that journey with us.”

Whilst the evening celebrated the past, the conversations throughout the event were all focused on the future. New ideas were being shared, partnerships strengthened and plans discussed for the years ahead. That ambition, combined with the incredible people across our network, gives us real confidence that the next chapter will be even more exciting than the first.

To every franchisee, coach, member of our HQ team, school, nursery, partner and family who has supported us over the last 15 years, thank you. Your belief, hard work and commitment have helped build something we’re incredibly proud of.

Founder Angelo Ciccarelli echoed thoughts, admitting the evening had been more emotional than he had expected.

“Seeing so many people in one room who have all played a part in our story was incredibly special. It makes you realise that Super Star Sport has never just been about delivering sport in schools, it’s about creating opportunities for people and building something that changes lives. Looking back makes me proud, but looking around the room made me even more excited about what’s still to come. I genuinely believe this is just the beginning.”

Fifteen years ago, Super Star Sport started with one goal, to inspire children through sport. Today, that mission remains exactly the same. The difference is that we now have an amazing network of people helping us achieve it every single day.
